Upcoming Public Hearings on the AACP.
City Council will hold public hearings on the AACP in January and February 2012.  More information, including the packet,  is available on the City Council Review Page.

P&Zs approve AACP!
The joint City-County Planning and Zoning Commissions  met on November 15th and voted to approve the 2011 AACP.  The final document is available by clicking here.  P&Z will meet over the next few weeks to review code changes related to the AACP.  The schedule and meeting packets are available on the Planning & Zoning Commission Review Page.

Thanks to everyone who participated in the recent small group and large group meetings, the 2011 Survey, and everyone who provided comments.

So, what happens next?
In the County, staff will begin working on a specific Master Plan for the West of Castle Creek Corridor area. 

In the City, City Council will review the document, and is scheduled to vote on the final AACP in January/February 2012.   After Council adopts the plan, work will begin on implementing the many ideas in the plan.

Next City Council Meeting: Monday, February 13, 2012
The City Council is holding the first public hearing on the AACP and some associated code clean-up amendments on Monday, February 13th and Monday, February 27th at 5:00pm in Council Chambers.  The full review schedule is available on our "Adoption" page.

We would like to invite you to be involved in this continuing process.  You can can do so in a number of ways:
  • Read the final P&Z document (November 15, 2011)
  • Attend an upcoming Council work session. (The schedule is available on our "Adoption" page)
  • Read the results from the 2011 Survey (available in the "Background Data" portion of this website)
  • Read the results of the Large Group Meetings.  (Available by clicking here
  • Read the feedback received at the October Small Group Meetings. (click here for the summaries)
  • Comment on our blog or send your comments by email to .
  • Stay tuned to Grassroots for periodic updates on the progress of the drafting.

We want to thank everyone who has participated in the community process.  Without your dedicated and thoughtful assistance we would not have the quality research, ideas, and progress that exist today.  So far, we have received feedback from you at the Small and Large Group Meetings,through the Community Vision Blog, Meetings in a Box, open houses, and other outreach events.  This continued emphasis on public involvement is scheduled to continue over the next few months and we hope you are able to attend.  The full schedule is available on our Adoption page.
